Bamboo flooring is not a new product; it first appeared in China in the late 1980s. Although manufacturing technology matured around 1998, production volume was initially only 300,000 square meters. At that time, complex and immature production processes meant that issues regarding durability, moisture resistance, and pest protection lacked effective solutions, hindering the product's further development and widespread adoption. By 2005, however, national production had reached 30 million square meters.

As a distinctive type of flooring, bamboo flooring commands high export prices and offers strong profitability; consequently, since its inception, most large-scale Chinese manufacturers have focused primarily on overseas markets. Representing a premium flooring category, 60% to 70% of China's total output is exported. This has created a situation where the product enjoys great success abroad but lacks significant brand recognition within China itself. Faced with the dual pressures of foreign trade barriers and cutthroat price competition among domestic exporters, the industry has finally recognized the importance of the home market and is actively working to raise awareness of bamboo flooring among domestic consumers.
